Triumph Gallery, Moscow
Exhibitions of Lorenza Diaz and Alexey Vasiliev will take place in August in Triumph Gallery. Both artists work with the mural paintings that will become reference point for each exhibition.
The works of Lorenza Diaz combine abstract and figurative elements and are often used as paintings and landscapes. Diaz says that she examines and creates empty spaces where she is trying to find trails of a human. The artist tells that the human figure has "disappeared" from her works in the early stages but the abstract in her works is constantly strengthening a sense of human presence.
Lorenza Diaz was born in 1978 in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. In 2010 she got a Bachelor degree in fine arts at the University of Applied Sciences of Northwestern Switzerland (germ. Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz, FHNW), during 2009–2010 she was also studying in the Painting department in Heribert C. Ottersbach the class of the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig (germ. Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig). She leaves between Leipzig and Basel. Her last exhibitions took place in Zurich, Moscow, Leipzig and Basel. On September 2015 the artist took part in a group exhibition TRANSMISSION for young artists from Leipzig, that was set up by the Triumph Gallery together with curators Olga Vostrecova and Kristina Semenova from Бükü – bureau for cultural translations (germ. Büro für kulturelle Übersetzungen), Leipzig. The Бükü curators are also accompanying the second exhibition involving Lorenza Diaz in Triumph Gallery.
