Alexander Vinogradov and Vladimir Dubossarsky

Alexander Vinogradov was born in Moscow in 1963. In 1984, he graduated from the Moscow Art School of 1905. In 1995, he graduated Surikov Art Institute.   Since 1994, Vinogradov was member of the Moscow Union of Artists and corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts.

 

Vladimir Dubosarsky was born in Moscow in 1964. In 1984, he graduated from the Moscow Art School of 1905. From 1988 to 1991, he studied at Surikov Art Institute.  Since 1994, Dubosarsky was member of the Moscow Union of Artists and corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts.

 

Alexander Vinogradov and Vladimir Dubosarsky have been working together since 1994. They contributed to such major projects as the 25th Bienal de Sao Paulo. Pavilhão da Bienal, 2002; Venice Biennale in 2003 with the project Returning of the Artist in the Russian pavilion; special projects of the 1st Moscow International Biennale of Modern Art, 2005: Accomplices. Collective and Interactive Works in Russian Art of the 1960s–2000s; I Believe! project for the 2nd Moscow Biennale, Vinzavod, 2007; RUSSIA! exhibition at Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York — Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao, 2005–2006; The Triumph of Painting. Part 6. (The Saatchi Gallery, London, 2006); 21 RUSSIA. Group Exhibition of Contemporary Russian Artists, PinchukArtCentre, Kiev, 2009; Counterpoint. Contemporary Russian Art — From the Icon to the Avant-Garde by way of the Museum, Louvre, Paris, 2010; Dior: Under the Sign of Art (Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, 2011).

 

In 2007, Alexander Vinogradov and Vladimir Dubosarsky were shortlisted for the Kandinsky Prize in the Project of the Year category. In 2014, the creative duo came apart, and the artists went on to have solo careers. Both are based in Moscow.
